Book Opinion:

End of Year Reflection:
With a year of almost full online, and now coming back into hybrid, school overall and Spanish 3 was a doozy. For the entirety of the year we were doing electives classes online every Wednesday, so from the beginning I had put my electives classes on the back burner because my core classes were harder and more important in my mind. For most of the year I had done most of the assignments, but also missed or didn't do some, so my grades reflected that poorly. I would say for the most part I was pretty engaged on online days, but just forgot or lacked the drive to do some work. Towards the end of the year I got on it and started doing better in that class. I have enjoyed most of the work we have done this year, and would say I have improved on my Spanish for sure. I would say enjoyed most learning about Bolivian culture when we were reading the book, "El Ekeko, Un Misterio Boliviano". In the book, the story takes place in La Paz, Bolivia. It's a city in the sky, engulfed by mountains, the city sits at 11,942 above sea level. I really got into the culture and found a deep appreciation for that city. We learned about these powerful women that basically run the street culture, called Cholitas. They are street vendors that make delicious food and other things, and some even wrestle. I really want to go experience this culture for myself, and go be able to talk to all of the different people. I struggled with a lot this year, and that being not turning in work and being not fully engaged in online class. On Wednesday's the class is in the morning and I would be tired and not fully there in class. I got past this by just setting an earlier alarm. Even though it was that simple, I was just slow to find the motivation. And like I said earlier I put my electives classes in the back burner so I didn't always turn in all of the work for this class. Eventually, I just set out a certain part of my week to do the work, and I got rid of that problem. Overall though, I improved my Spanish skills a lot this year. We worked on changing the tense or irregular verbs a lot, and in the past I have struggled with that a bit. I also am happy on how much better I am at even thinking in Spanish. I was able to put together sentences and understand Spanish being spoken way better. My short term goals for language learning are to practice more, and speak spanish with others more. I feel if I practice enough, soon I will be able to understand Spanish so much better. And my long term goals are to get very fluent in Spanish, as well as learn other languages like German, French, and maybe others.
